Lama, Patron, Artist: The Great Situ Panchen. Through new scholarship and recently discovered paintings, “Lama, Patron, Artist: The Great Situ Panchen,” on view at the Freer and Sackler Galleries through July 18, brings the extraordinary Tibetan artist, Situ Panchen (1700-1774), into focus. Organized by the Rubin Museum of Art, this exhibition is a feature of the gallery’s “Asia in America” program.
