Regie “Red” Plana-Alcuaz

 Regi-Plana-Alcuaz

April is Volunteer Appreciation Month. Each day we will put one of our valued volunteers in the spotlight as a way of saying thank you!

Regie “Red” Plana-Alcuaz has been a VIARC volunteer since 2006. Her current assignment is at the Donald W. Reynolds Center for American Art and Portraiture. She is shown here with members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police at the 2006 Smithsonian Folklife Festival. (Photo courtesy of Carol Nippert)

    • Thanks for the correction, Regie–and thanks to you and all the other volunteers who help make the Smithsonian the great Institution it is.

    • Hi! Thanks very much for selecting my photo. I was a volunteer for the Folklife Festival here. The lady Mountie in the picture, Leilani Collins, is a good friend until now – we email each other regularly. She was recently on assignment to the Winter Olympics in Vancouver.
I’d appreciate it if my first name could be corrected. It’s REGIE, not Regi.
Maraming Salamat! (“Many Thanks” in Tagalog, my native language)
