Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day

Teddy-and-Seamus-2010

The Smithsonian celebrated Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day on  April 22—and what better place to introduce children to the exciting career possibilities in the museum world? SI staff and their children were able to choose from more than 50 exciting events and activities, hosted by 16 Smithsonian museums, programs and offices, including a special tour of the National Portrait Gallery’s “One Life: Echoes of Elvis” exhibition. After the tour, families listened to Elvis tunes and made their own Elvis-inspired cardboard guitars! Here, Teddy LeGloahec, son of Marisa Bourgoin of the Archives of American Art, and Seamus Cary, son of Susan Cary of AAA, show off their handiwork.
