Opportunities and challenges in new fiscal year
As part of the agenda at Smithsonian Board of Regents public meeting on Sept. 20, the Regents heard good news about summer attendance. Overall, 7 million people packed the National Museum of American History, the National Museum of Natural History and the National Air and Space Museum in June, July and August. In 2009 in the same months, the visitors numbered 6.8 million. In addition, the Regents discussed the $10 million grant to fund consortia projects and the future of the Arts and Industries building.
