The largest exhibition ever assembled of the work of artist Charles Sheeler goes on display at the National Collection of Fine Arts, now the Smithsonian American Art Museum, for six weeks. The retrospective includes 135 paintings and drawings and 35 photographs. Sheeler (1883-1965) is recognized as one of the founders of American modernism and one of master photographers of the early 29th century.
