Universalis Cosmographia, Waldseemüller's 1507 world map which was the first to show the Americas separate from Asia

“The Naming of America&rdquo opens at the National Museum of American History. The exhibition displays the world map created by German cartographer Martin Waldseemüller in 1507, thought to be the first map on which the name “America” was used.
