Wear your art on your sleeve

The popular Smithsonian Craft2Wear show will be held the weekend of Oct.23 – 24 at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C.  Daily admission, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. is $5.00.

The show and sale features 36 exhibitors of jewelry and wearable art, all of whom selected by jury for previous  Smithsonian Craft Shows. This year’s honorary chair is former Secretary of State Madeleine K. Albright.

The Advance Chance party will be Friday, Oct. 22 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and will feature first-choice shopping, wine and hors d’oeuvres, music, modeling and more. ($50.00  by advance reservation.)

This year’s Craft2Wear show also features  a special Sunday brunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 24 featuring a talk, “Be Dazzled! What’s New and Fabulous at the Smithsonian Gem and Mineral Collection,” by Jeffrey Post, curator of the National Gem and Mineral Collection at the Natural History Museum.  Tickets are $45.00 per person by reservation (space is limited).  Tickets for the advance party or Sunday’s brunch may be purchased online or by calling toll-free 888-832-9554.
