Botanist spices up ‘A Splendid Table’

Research botanist John Kress of the Natural History Museum—the “Indiana Jones of ginger—has spent decades studying the gingers and their relatives. As one of the few outside scientists allowed to conduct research in Myanmar, he has discovered several new species, including “The Weeping Goldsmith,” the title of his new book. He recently appeared on American Public Media’s radio show, “The Splendid Table” to talk with Lynn Rosetto Kasper. Click here to listen to John’s fascinating interview. John’s segment begins at 14.50
