Gary Hevel

Gary Hevel, a museum specialist at the National Museum of Natural History, examines a specimen tray of tropical long-horned beetles. These iridescent beetles, native to South America, represent only a small fraction of the more than 35 million specimens of insects in the Smithsonian’s entomology collection.
