Kay Speerstra and Gina Weller

April is Volunteer Appreciation Month. Each day we will put one of our valued volunteers in the spotlight as a way of saying thank you!

On April 25, an estimated 700 members of the Red Hat Society flocked to the American History Museum to see the red hat and purple boa on display in an artifact wall behind the Constitution Avenue desk. Volunteers Kay Speerstra and Gina Weller, along with Building Coordinator Michael Rubin, assisted the group for well over an hour—it took that long for all of them to get through the door! Kudos to all for remaining friendly, welcoming and professional even during an extremely busy rush.
