Regie Plana-Alcuaz

April is Volunteer Appreciation Month. Each day we will put one of our valued volunteers in the spotlight as a way of saying thank you!

When legendary poet, musician and artist Patti Smith visited the American Art Museum in December, 2010, she posed for a picture with information desk volunteer Regie Plana-Alcuaz. “She was here to give a lecture and sign her book, Just Kids,” Plana-Alcuaz says. “She read a Georgia O’Keefe poem and even sang a song. People stood for more than an hour to get their books signed.”
