Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows-Part 2

Smithsonian Theaters presents Warner Bros. Pictures’ Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows –Part 2: The IMAX Experience, now showing at the National Air and Space Museum Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center’s Airbus IMAX Theater in Chantilly, Va., and in 3-D at the National Museum of Natural History’s Johnson IMAX Theater, starting July 29.

In the epic finale, the battle between the good and evil forces of the wizarding world escalates into an all-out war. The stakes have never been higher and no one is safe. But it is Harry Potter who may be called upon to make the ultimate sacrifice as he draws closer to the climactic showdown with Lord Voldemort.

Wardrobe worn in the film will be on display in theater lobbies throughout the film’s run. Harry Potter and Neville Longbottom costumes are now on display in the Airbus IMAX Theater lobby through July 28. The costumes will then be transferred to the Johnson IMAX Theater’s lobby from July 29 through Sept. 4. The costumes are on loan, courtesy of Warner Bros. Pictures.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 stars Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson, reprising their roles as Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. The film was directed by David Yates, and produced by David Heyman, David Barron and J.K. Rowling, with Lionel Wigram executive producing. Steve Kloves adapted the screenplay, based on the novel by J.K. Rowling. Distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, the film is rated PG-13 for some sequences of intense action violence and frightening images.

The film opened July 15 at the Airbus IMAX Theater and will open in 3-D at the Johnson IMAX Theater July 29. It will be presented nightly at both theaters through Sept. 4.

Individual tickets are available for the movie’s screenings at both theaters. Tickets may be reserved and purchased up to two weeks in advance. Groups of 10 or more may reserve tickets for any date at either theater during the film’s run. The Airbus IMAX Theater is located on the main floor of the Udvar-Hazy Center at 14390 Air and Space Museum Parkway in Chantilly. The theater’s 75-by-62-foot screen is the largest in northern Virginia.

The Johnson IMAX Theater is located on the first floor of the National Museum of Natural History at 10th Street and Constitution Avenue N.W. The theater’s 90-by-60-foot screen is the largest in Washington, D.C.
