Going, going, gone!
The Combined Federal Campaign is in full swing at the Smithsonian. Last year, we raised more than $501,000 in support of more than 4,000 charities that work locally, nationally and internationally providing healthcare, education, relief and hope for the future. The CFC is designed to support and promote philanthropy. By combining the resources of federal employees, the CFC provides one coordinated effort to improve the quality of life for those in need.
Although we understand that these are economically challenging times for all of us, we hope to increase our donations by two percent for a total of $511,000 this year.
In order to generate excitement about the campaign, we are planning a Smithsonian-wide auction— just in time for the holidays. Please consider donating items that can be auctioned for this event. Any product or service is welcomed.
The auction items will be displayed on a Smithsonian-wide SharePoint site where anyone can bid until December 8. On December 8 at 6:30 p.m., we will hold the formal auction at the National Museum of the American Indian.
Your donations will help us raise the maximum amount of support to help those unknown “someones” who rely upon CFC participating charities for assistance.
If you would like to donate to the auction, please contact Susan Chavez Cameron at 36685 (VoIP), 202-633-6685 (non-VoIP), or camerons@si.edu or Mignon Erixon-Stanford at 36373 (VoIP), 202-633-6373 (non-VoIP), or erixonm@si.edu and provide the following information: your name and email address; the object or service being offered; an estimate of fair market value; and if possible, a picture of the object (although not required).
Thank you for your support.
