Based on the Barsoom novels of Tarzan creator Edgar Rice Burroughs, the film tells the story of former Civil War captain John Carter, who is transported to the exotic planet of Barsoom, where he becomes embroiled in a conflict of epic proportions. In a world on the brink of collapse, Carter rediscovers his humanity when he realizes that the survival of the planet and its people rests in his hands. Check the schedule for movie times online and at theater box offices.

Staff and volunteers possessing a valid Smithsonian ID may purchase an unlimited number of tickets for themselves and their friends and family at a special discounted rate of $10.00 – a savings of $5.00 off the standard admission price.
