The Dark Knight Rises

The Dark Knight will rise at Smithsonian Theaters July 20! The Dark Knight Rises opens Friday at the Airbus IMAX Theater (Udvar-Hazy Center), the Lockheed IMAX Theater (Air and Space) and the Johnson IMAX Theater (Natural History).

Eight years after Batman took the fall for Two Face’s crimes, a new terrorist leader, Bane, overwhelms Gotham’s finest, and the Dark Knight resurfaces to protect a city that has branded him an enemy.

Watch the epic conclusion to director Christopher Nolan’s Batman saga. The Dark Knight Rises contains more than an hour of special IMAX footage, which will fill the Smithsonian’s six-story screens—an experience that cannot be achieved in a standard movie theater.

Staff and volunteers possessing a valid Smithsonian ID may purchase an unlimited number of tickets at a special discounted rate of $10.00. The reduced-rate tickets for staff, friends and family must be purchased in-person at a Smithsonian Theaters box office (NASM, NMNH and Hazy).  Presentation of your Smithsonian ID is required to receive the discounted rate.  Box offices open daily at 10:00 a.m. and remain open until the final show of the evening has started. Tickets are on sale now for all three theaters. Visit www.si.edu/imax for more information.
