Welcome back!

During the Federal government shutdown in October that furloughed employees, delayed exhibitions and closed museums, essential services–such as caring for the animals at the National Zoo and maintaining security at our facilities–continued. Now that the shutdown has ended, all of our employees and volunteers have returned to work with the spirit of service that embodies the Smithsonian. Secretary Clough introduces some of our new exhibitions and thanks the dedicated and passionate employees who make this such a great place to work.
