Celebrate the life and work of Rita Moreno, actress, singer and dancer, and the only Latina (and one of only a few performers) to have won the four major American entertainment awards: two Emmys, a Grammy (The Electric Company Album, 1972), an Oscar (Best Supporting Actress, West Side Story, 1961) and a Tony (Best Featured Actress, The Ritz, 1975). She also won a Golden Globe Award for West Side Story. Join us as Moreno shares her life story with Taína Caragol, curator of Latino art and history at the National Portrait Gallery. Moreno is represented in the special exhibition “Dancing the Dream” on the first floor of the Portrait Gallery.
