Office of Advancement
Virginia (Ginny) Clark, Assistant Secretary for Advancement, has announced that she will retire from the Smithsonian in March 2017.
Clark has led Smithsonian-wide development activities since 2002 when she arrived from the University of Pennsylvania. During her time here, she helped usher in a new era of fundraising and played a pivotal role in many Smithsonian milestones. She led the Smithsonian’s first-ever National Campaign, which recently achieved its goal of $1.5 billion raised for the Institution. The campaign has endowed new positions, created education centers and helped fund the opening of the National Museum of African American History and Culture.
Clark and her husband plan to return to Philadelphia upon her retirement.
