Tricia Edwards will spark new enthusiasm in her role as Interim Associate Director of SA

Tricia Edwards has been appointed Interim Associate Director for Smithsonian Affiliations.

Edwards has served as the Head of Education for the Lemelson Center for the Study of Invention and Innovation at the National Museum of American History since 2006. In that capacity, she developed and directed strategy and growth of public engagement initiatives, forged partnerships and collaborations with museums nationally, and led new program development as part of the Center’s senior leadership team. She developed Spark!Lab, the Center’s flagship educational initiative, and created a national network of Spark!Labs, three of which are at Affiliates. In the process, Edwards expanded her deep knowledge of the museum field, which she developed in previous positions as Director of Education at the Baltimore Museum of Industry and at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, and as Education Manager at the Delaware Museum of Natural History.

She will assume her new role in late February.
