NMAAHC’s Tuliza Fleming recognized for curatorial leadership
The Center for Curatorial Leadership (CCL) in New York has named twelve curators as the recipients of its 2019 fellowships. Among the 2019 fellows are Tuliza Fleming, curator of American art at the National Museum of African American History and Culture.
Chosen from a dozen museums across the United States, the cohort will participate in three weeks of in-session instruction, have residencies with museum directors, and work to develop a Diversity Mentoring Initiative at their home institutions. They will convene from January through May 2019.
According to CCL, each participant “demonstrates a strong commitment to advancing the museum landscape and promoting inclusive staffing structures, expansive curatorial frameworks, and robust engagement with art and audiences.”
