2019 Artists at Work

The creativity and talent of Smithsonian staff are among the reasons we are so dedicated to the work we do behind the scenes of our exhibitions. Here’s your opportunity to showcase your talent and be recognized with an exhibition of your own.

The Smithsonian Community Committee invites you to participate in Artists at Work, a juried exhibition that will feature two- and three-dimensional works of art by members of the Smithsonian community. Works in all media and disciplines are eligible, from painting, sculpture, photography, and video to weaving, metalworking, and ceramics.

The competition is open to all Smithsonian staff, fellows, interns, and volunteers with a current and valid Smithsonian ID. One entry is allowed per person. Up to 70 works will be selected by three non-SI jurors for inclusion in the exhibition.

Deadline for entering is May 3rd. Winning entrants will be notified by May 17th. The exhibition will open on October 7th in the Concourse Gallery of the S. Dillon Ripley Center and will be on display through the summer of 2020.
