Eric first came to the Smithsonian in December 2004 on temporary assignment as a contractor. His duties included answering and transferring incoming calls to what was then known as the Visitor Information and Resource Center. By July 2005, he was brought on board as a full-time receptionist and quickly moved on the the Call Center as a Program Assistant where he fielded hundreds of inquiries each day, answering visitor questions and directing their calls.

In 2009 he assumed his current position, Visitor Services Coordinator, responsible for overseeing all Call Center volunteers and effectively becoming the voice of Smithsonian Information.
