COVID-19 Update: Maximize telework

Dear Colleagues,

Although SI buildings will remain open to staff, we strongly encourage supervisors to maximize opportunities for staff to work-from-home. We recognize that there are essential functions that must continue, as well as ad hoc projects and programs that require in-person attention, but for the most part, we would like staff to be working at home and not commuting or congregating at work. The fewer people we have in the workplace, the less risk we are creating for those staff members who must be here to perform essential functions. This social distancing could reduce the spread of the virus, which should be our goal. There will be time-and-attendance guidance coming out, which will provide instructions for how to enter hours during this period of public closure.

Best,
Lonnie
