In her role as CFO, Lambert will oversee the Office of Planning, Management and Budget, the Office of Finance and Accounting, the Office of Contracting and Personal Property Management, and the Office of Sponsored Projects. She will report to the Under Secretary but will be a key partner for all Smithsonian leaders as they navigate the financial impact from the pandemic.

Lambert brings deep experience in the federal government as well as the private sector. Over the course of her career in public service, she has served as the CFO at the Internal Revenue Service, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence and as the FBI’s Deputy CFO. She has a strong federal budget background from her earlier roles at the Treasury Department and the Patent and Trademark Office. Most recently, Lambert spent four years as a CFO in the private sector for IDEMIA and CALIBRE Systems.

Lambert holds a master’s degree in public administration from George Washington University in addition to a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southern California.
