Passes are required to visit the newly reopened National Air and Space Museum galleries
While we’re excited to welcome our SI teammates back to the reopened NASM Mall building and hope you’re excited to visit, with the museum’s limited physical footprint, there is limited visitor capacity. To ensure that defined capacity isn’t exceeded and that all visitors have a high-quality experience, timed-entry passes have been put in place. Passes will be required for Smithsonian staff and their guests.
Passes are available at a link on the NMB visit page on the Museum’s website https://airandspace.si.edu/visit/museum-dc. Each batch of passes that are released will cover a six-week period. The release schedule is below.
Anyone entering the Museum, except on official business, must have a pass, in order to properly control building capacity. This means unless coming to work or for official reasons, badged staff, volunteers, and their guests must have a timed pass to enter.
In addition:
- A limited number of same-day timed-entry passes will be released online each day, beginning at 8:30 am ET.
- An individual can reserve up to six free timed-entry passes for their visit. For groups of 10 or more, please reserve group passes. A link for that will be provided when the ticketing opens Sept. 14.
- All visitors, regardless of age, must have a timed-entry pass to enter the Museum.
- Free timed-entry passes will be delivered via an Etix email. They may be presented digitally on a phone or printed out.
- Tickets are not transferable, and cannot be sold or traded.
