Entertainment Nation Opening Festival/Festival de apertura de La nación del espectáculo
Celebrate the opening of American History’s new culture wing with a nine-day festival of special events, Dec. 9 – 18.
We are so excited to invite you to join the National Museum of American History’s Entertainment Nation Opening Festival/Festival de apertura de La nación del espectáculo to celebrate the opening of the museum’s new Culture Wing.
On Dec. 9, the museum will unveil the new long-term exhibition Entertainment Nation/Nación del espectáculo, the temporary exhibition (re) Framing Conversations: Photographs by Richard Avedon, 1946–1965, and a video installation on gaming history. Anchoring the Culture Wing, Entertainment Nation/Nación del espectáculo showcases how Americans have long used entertainment to both elicit delight and understand different viewpoints.
The Festival will take place from December 9-18 and features a wide array of dynamic conversations, intimate talks with curators, sneak peaks at objects from the national collection, film screenings of pop culture classics, and musical performances. We’ll also have hands-on family crafts, concerts, and photo ops throughout the museum!
We invite you to check out the full slate of free events here. Select events listed below require registration, so reserve your free ticket now!
