Ed Tudor joins as the new Visitor Services Assistant. While he may be new to the Office of Visitor Services, Ed Tudor is no stranger to the Smithsonian. He started his journey with SI as a Visitor Information Specialist Volunteer for the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden in 2019. Ed also served as a Volunteer Castle Ambassador in 2019 as well. At the start of 2020 he was brought on at the Hirshhorn as Visitor Services Associate for the Yayoi Kusama Exhibition. Once the museums reopened in 2021, he continued as a VSA and eventually moved into his current role with OVS. Previously, Ed served as a Marketing/Promotion/Branding Director for several local television stations around the country before arriving as the Director of Affiliate Marketing and Promotion for the ABC Television Network. An Emmy award winning Producer/Director with a degree in Film and Television Production from the University of Florida, he is originally from Jacksonville, Florida. He is an Eagle Scout and enjoys his continued involvement with the Scouting program. His wife of 22 years, Shelby, also works in non-profit with Children’s National Hospital. In his free time, Ed enjoys traveling, cooking, watching television (there is a story there) and feature films and documentaries, audio books, and playing acoustic guitar.

Ed will be the lead contact for OVS-Visitor Information Specialist (VIS) volunteers and museum volunteer coordinators on matters of assignments, scheduling, and other administrative-related matters as it pertains to staffing the museum information desk. Ed’s email is tudorc@si.edu
