Exhibits Specialist Vince Chirichella recognized for excellence

Chirichella received the Smithsonian Exhibits (SIE) “Staff Star” Performance Excellence Award for the period of January–June 2023.

Vince’s colleagues selected him for this honor for his excellent leadership during the Afrofuturism exhibit install at the National Museum of African American History and Culture. (His many talents and wonderful personality didn’t hurt, either.) Vince and team completed the install in May 2023.

Vince’s positivity was inspiring and he encouraged team members to do their best. He fostered great partnerships with SI staff and contractors, and his expertise in all things related to exhibit installation was clear to everyone on his team.

SIE is the Smithsonian’s pan-institutional resource for exhibit planning, exhibit development, design, and production services. We provide exhibit expertise and support to all public-facing functions within Smithsonian museums and offices by providing the highest quality exhibit design, interpretive writing, project management, graphic production, fabrication, and 3D projects; partnering with SI museums and offices to augment in-house capabilities; and serving as a professional resource for Smithsonian exhibition colleagues.
