At NMAAHC, Brackett is responsible for overseeing administrative and financial functions, resource management, business programs, and emergency planning initiatives. Her leadership also has enabled an effective transition from the COVID-19 pandemic to the museum’s new normal, hybrid environment.

Bracket joined NMAAHC as the museum’s IT Portfolio Officer in September 2016. Later, she stepped into the role of Assistant Director for the Office of Visitor and Guest Services, where she reshaped the visitor experience with customer-first principles and smart technology. Bracket has served on a number of pan-Institutional working groups to focus on improvements in data governance, human resource management, employee accountability, and visitor experience. Her approach to seek opportunities with collaboration, creativity, and empathy has resulted in impactful solutions for NMAAHC and the Smithsonian.

Bracket assumes leadership of the Anacostia Community Museum while its current director, Dr. Melanie Adams, serves as Acting Director of the Smithsonian American Women’s History Museum.
