Smithsonian Ambassadors are back!

The Office of Visitor Services is excited to announce the return of our Smithsonian Ambassador program this week, just in time for the increased spring visitation our units are experiencing.

Smithsonian Ambassadors are volunteers who are stationed outdoors on the National Mall to greet visitors, provide Smithsonian resources and brochures, and help visitors navigate to their destination. Ambassadors are identifiable by their red Plan and Go gear. When you’re out on the Mall and see one of our Ambassador volunteers, stop by and say hello!

Smithsonian Ambassadors engaged with nearly 9,000 visitors in the program’s inaugural season in 2023 and we are looking forward to engaging with and inspiring even more people this year. Special thanks to Michael Rubin and Michelle Gelhausen for leading this program and helping us to launch season 2.
