Decolonizing ocean science means ensuring local capacity and priorities to be a part of the science. The Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute offers many opportunities, including fellowships, field courses and internships, for ocean-related research and multidisciplinary collaboration, for a deeper understanding of marine ecosystems and the link between ocean and people.
