As a fundraiser for the Smithsonian Libraries, I enjoy meeting people from all backgrounds who share a love of books and libraries. The subject of my photo was reading when I met him, and what began as a conversation around books led to a wonderful discussion about life and living it to the fullest degree. I felt his joie de vivre was best captured while he was laughing.
