June 4, 1985  “Aditi: A Celebration of Life,” opens at the Natural History Museum. Created in New Delhi in 1978 to mark the International Year of the Child, the exhibition is one of the major Smithsonian contributions to the nationwide Festival of India.The exhibition will become one of the most popular ever presented at the museum. India also is featured at the 1985 Festival of American Folklife.
