Behind-the-Scenes of the 2013 Smithsonian Folklife Festival

Please join the Smithsonian Forum on Material Culture on Tuesday, June 18, for a Behind-the-Scenes tour of the 2013 Smithsonian Folklife Festival. This year’s Festival features programs on Hungarian Heritage, One World, Many Voices and The Will to Adorn.

SCHEDULE

3:00 p.m. – 4:15 p.m. – FESTIVAL SITE TOUR AND DISCUSSION. Meet at the Joseph Henry statue in front of the Castle on the Mall (rain or shine). Join colleagues from the Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage for a walking tour and discussion of in-progress Festival preparations. Open and free to all.

A program overview of the 2013 Festival will be followed by tours of the three Festival areas.
4:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. – ICE CREAM SOCIAL & INFORMAL DISCUSSION, open to all by RSVP.

Please join us for Ben & Jerry’s ice cream sundaes and informal discussion with Festival curators and organizers.
