Claudine K. Brown Fund for Education
Honor the legacy of the late Assistant Secretary for Education and Access and support the Smithsonian’s education mission with a contribution to the Claudine K. Brown Fund for Education.
The late Claudine K. Brown served as Assistant Secretary for Education and Access at the Smithsonian from 2010 to 2016. Responsible for defining the Institution’s overall education program, she worked with more than 300 educators across the Smithsonian to bring our stories, collections, lessons, artifacts, short films, games and many more educational offerings to students, teachers and learners of all ages.
To continue Claudine’s legacy and vision, the Claudine K. Brown Fund for Education has been established to provide internship opportunities in education for youth at the Smithsonian. A gift to the fund will support interns who focus on innovative educational projects and program development and the broad dissemination of high-quality educational resources to learners everywhere.
Targeting high school and college students, as well as underserved youth, internships supported by the Claudine K. Brown Fund for Education will be vital in developing and inspiring the next generation of educators.
