New science press secretary will be promoting Smithsonian research

The Smithsonian’s new science press secretary might have found the going a little rocky when she started her job the week of the partial government shutdown.

Alise Fisher

Alise Fisher has joined the Office of Public Affairs as Science Press Secretary, working to promote Smithsonian research, scientists, and their expertise to the media and public.

She comes to the Smithsonian from the American Society of Clinical Oncology, where she developed media relations and social media strategies to communicate cancer research news. Alise has a Master of Arts in Science Writing from Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations from Syracuse University.
