#Because of HerStory: Frida Kahlo

The iconic Mexican artist, Frida Kahlo revolutionized the self-portrait by using the form to explore topics such as gender, class, race, and postcolonialism. Her paintings, clothing, letters, and personal belongings have been exhibited across the world. 

Frida Kahlo’s portrait is in  in the collections of the National Portrait Gallery, Smithsonian Institution.
