Apollo 11 Launch Celebration July 16
Join us at the Udvar-Hazy Center on July 16 as we open early to celebrate the 50th anniversary of launch of Apollo 11!
The event will include:
- Broadcast of NASA TV’s program celebrating the launch, starting at 9:15 a.m.
- “Let’s Talk Spaceflight” with shuttle astronaut Sandy Magnus, at 10:00 and 11:00 a.m
- Materials from the National Air and Space Museum Archives
- Hands-on activtiies and discovery stations
- Lunar story time at 11:00 and 11:30 a.m.
- “Driven to Explore” NASA mobile exhibit from 12:00 to 5:30 p.m.
- While you’re here, check out artifacts from the Apollo 11 mission, such as the Mobile Quarantine Facility and Apollo 11 flotation collar.
Parking and gates open at 8:00 am. Access to the Center begins at 8:45 a.m.
