COVID-19 Update: Face coverings are still required

Banner showing COVID-19 virus

We know there are many questions regarding the latest CDC guidance on the use of face coverings given an individual’s vaccination status. We are currently evaluating this new guidance and determining how it will impact our policies.

In the interim, Smithsonian’s face covering policy has not changed and all staff and visitors are still required to wear a face covering on Smithsonian grounds and within Smithsonian facilities. Thank you for your patience as we analyze the new recommendations.

Stay safe and be well,

COVID-19 Response Team
