Freedom Struggles: “She Mattered. What Mattered to Her?”
Last month, the Office of Visitor Services and Volunteer Management hosted a Smithsonian Volunteer Enrichment program, Community + Conversations with a Docent. “Freedom Struggles: She Mattered. What Mattered to Her?” was led by two insightful and engaging Docents from the National Museum of African American History and Culture. Through powerful objects and first-person accounts, participants had the chance to connect to the past and hear about the actions of ordinary women demanding freedom and transforming our nation. If you were unable to join us for the live program (or want to watch it again), the recording is now available!

Please note: Only those viewing the program during the live feed were able to participate in the polls. You can, however, view the poll results by clicking the “Show Poll Result” button (which looks like a bar graph and is located next to the “CC” button) at the bottom of your screen. Once you click this, the poll results will appear on your screen after each polling session is completed. Each polling session is marked by a green dot along the video timeline. You may also click on these green dots at any time to pause the program and view the poll results. You will need to close each polling result on your own after you are done viewing it.
