The 2022 Combined Federal Campaign has begun

Secretary Bunch encourages all who can give support to a favorite charity to take advantage of the CFC. Our goal this year is $425,000. We can do it!

You Can Be the Face of Change CFC theme trademark

Every day, each of you serves our greater community, our nation, and our world through your role at the Smithsonian. And every year, your generous donations and pledges through the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) further your impact by helping those in need.  Your gifts are immeasurable beyond the dollar amount. The thousands of vetted, trusted charities that take part in the CFC rely on your support.

The Smithsonian’s 2022 Combined Federal Campaign began yesterday and continues through January 14, 2023. This year’s goal is $425,000. We know that Smithsonian employees are caring and generous, and we hope to exceed our goal.

Thank you to Dr. Monique M. Chism, the Smithsonian’s Under Secretary for Education, who is serving as CFC Vice Chair, and to Karen Garrett and Tracie Spinale in the Office of the Under Secretary for Education who are supporting us in managing this Smithsonian-wide effort.

I believe in our collective power as employees of the Smithsonian and know that together we can make a difference. This year’s theme encourages us all to Be the Face of Change by pledging to one or more of the many worthy charities that rely on these donations throughout the year.

The CFC offers an easy, efficient, and effective way to give back. If you have pledged before, CFC Giving System (opm.gov) makes it easy to renew your gift each year. You can also pledge through the CFC Giving mobile app. Consider increasing your gift by 5% or 10%, adding an additional one-time donation, or supplementing your pledge with volunteer hours.

If you are new to the CFC, visit GiveCFC.org to learn more about how you can join the movement. With multiple ways to give and so many charities to support, please consider a contribution through the CFC and Be the Face of Change to the causes that mean the most to you.

Your gifts remain anonymous unless you choose otherwise. The charities you support will have access to unrestricted funds through the CFC, helping them respond wherever the need is greatest.

Join your many colleagues in this combined effort to help others and stand with all in need. Please pledge today at GiveCFC.org and let’s make this our best CFC season yet.

Thank you for your continued support across the years for the Combined Federal Campaign and for all you do for our communities on behalf of the Smithsonian.
