Contingency planning in the event of a federal shutdown

Temporarily Closed sign

With the end of the fiscal year approaching, many of you are understandably wondering about the possibility of a government shutdown.  We want to assure you that we are closely monitoring the situation and have begun planning in the event of a lapse in federal appropriations. We have been through a government shutdown before and are reviewing and updating past shutdown plans as appropriate.  We are also reviewing our existing carryover funds to determine how long we would be able to continue operations in the event of a lapse in appropriations.  Similar to previous shutdowns, we expect to have enough carryover funding available to avoid a shutdown on October 1 if one were to occur, so we plan to proceed with business as usual at this time.

We will, of course, also continue to keep you up to date as the situation evolves next week.
