American Women’s History Initiative awards pool funds for 2025
The Smithsonian American Women’s History Museum has announced the recipients of the 2025 American Women’s History Initiative Pool (AWHIP) fund awards. Each of these outstanding projects support Our Shared Future 250 and further the Smithsonian’s mission to research, share, and amplify the histories of American women and demonstrate the inclusion of women’s stories as fundamental to the American story.

Sidedoor Podcast: Episodes featuring CHSDM + NPM
Researching, developing, and producing two 30-minute Sidedoor podcast episodes bringing awareness to the stories of Susan Kare, a legendary designer known for her work at Apple, and the 6888th Central Postal Directory Battalion, which was the only all-Black, all-female unit of the U.S. Army during World War II.
