COVID-19 Update: Employee Assistance Program Services available

The outbreak of the COVID-19 is stressful for many. Everyone reacts differently to stressful situations. Feelings of anxiety, uncertainty, and fear are understandably high as more information about the pandemic is being shared. Talking out concerns and sharing fears can help you put them in perspective.

Fortunately, there are resources to help. The SI Employee Assistance Program (EAP) offers short-term counseling now available by phone. EAP staff will be available between the hours of 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Monday – Friday at the numbers listed below:

In addition, the following resources from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMSHA) offer specific guidelines and tips to cope with stress and anxiety during the COVID-19 crisis.

Finally, and most importantly, if you, or someone you love, is feeling overwhelmed with emotions such as sadness, depression, anxiety, or feel like you want to harm yourself or someone else, call 911 or the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-TALK (1-800-273-8255)
